Are there any themes that work like SB Nation?

  I am looking to start a sports blog, and I was wondering if any of the wordpress themes function anything like this.

  I believe the comments show up live as people post them, you don’t have to refresh the page, there’s a fan posting section, people can post their own photos, just a lot of cool stuff like that perfect for a sports blog. Does wordpress offer anything like this?

  Evarlese thanks for the help.

  Yes I want realtime comment updates, but what about responding to specific commenters? Also, and this is the most important thing, on SB Nation the comments don’t show up until you go to the post page, until you click on the specific post and go to its dedicated page, otherwise the comments would take up a huge part of home page, with comments trickling down from every post. Is there a way to make it in P2 so the comments don’t show on the home page, and you have to click on the specific post and open it up on its dedicated page?

  And P2 isnt one of the themes that uses fixed background images right? I can edit the content width in CSS, yes? Unlike in elegant grunge and greyzed and ones like that? And the background image too?

  @puckcircle: yes, you can also respond to specific questions in real time. If you click “Toggle Comment Threads” on the P2-themed blog, you can expose/hide comments on the front page. You can also do it by page.

  You can change the background image of the P2 theme via Appearance > Background. Modifying the default theme settings would require you to have a Custom Design upgrade, please read more about it here to decide if it’s right for you:

  As it appears that you are interested in customizing CSS, I would recommend that you try experimenting with your test blog and seeing what effects you can actually achieve with the themes that we have available.
