Are there incompatibilities between WordPress and Windows 7?

When saving a new post to Drafts, only the first paragraph followed by the pictures was saved. All other text was lost. Some of the buttons do not work, e.g. special symbols.

I had forgotten about a similar occurrence two months ago when I again lost nearly all the text. On that occasion I turned to my lap top, which runs Windows Vista Business, and was then able to re-write the post without problems.

Your post is probably saved. Please read this guide on how to restore post revisions.

Also make sure you’re running the latest browser version, or try a different browser.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Thank you.

I have looked at al the drafts and in none of them is the text after the first picture saved, so I assume it cannot be recovered.

The solution, I suppose, is to use my laptop to write posts and my much faster desktop to read them…

  • The computer you use really won’t make a difference. As WordPress.com is a web platform, not software, we are only dependent on the browser, not the operating system.

These are the browsers (and versions) that we support: http://browsehappy.com/

Are you using one of those?
