Are there limits to how many posts show up?

Our site uses the Dyad template. If we keep adding new posts to it, will the page just continue to scroll endlessly or can we control the content so only the most recent posts are visible when you visit the site? (We’d like the older posts just to be archived by their category name.) We want to change our content seasonally. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

If we keep adding new posts to it, will the page just continue to scroll endlessly or can we control the content so only the most recent posts are visible when you visit the site?

See the Disabling Infinite Scroll section of the Infinite Scroll support page. Once you disable infinite scroll, you’ll want to check the posts per page setting. The number of pages displayed on the blog page and on archives pages is determined by the “Blog pages show at most” setting at Reading Settings. See the Reading Settings support page for information and instructions.

We’d like the older posts just to be archived by their category name.

That can be done using Category Pages, which you may provide links to in a custom menu. You could remove the blog page from the front page by assigning a static front page. See the Set a Static “Home” Page (Front Page) support page.

Displaying a certain category of posts on the front page requires a different approach, because category pages are archives pages and the only archives page that can be displayed on the front page is the blog page. There are workarounds though. You could set a static page as the front page and insert a different customized Display Posts Shortcode for each category, or modify a single shortcode seasonally.
