  Since the import process for my old blog would be way too difficult and time consuming, is it allowed to open another account and import the blogs there, then delete the old, in order to change the URL?

  Yes, I see no reason it wouldn’t be allowed. But you could also just buy the Domain Upgrade.

  Can’t afford that right now, but thanks for the suggestion. I might do that at another time.
