Are WordPress.com Users Able to Use Markdown
-
I’m trying to use Markdown as an alternative to the awkward keyboard shortcuts used in the visual editor, and it doesn’t render in either the visual editor or the HTML editor. However, I can’t seem to find an option to enable Markdown as a WordPress.com user. Is writing posts in Markdown a WordPress.org exclusive feature, or am I just not finding the right option?

The short answer is yes, you can use markdown :) The first thing to do is go to your full dashboard; based on the link in your profile, it would be http://artstentatious.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
To enable Markdown for posts and pages, go to Settings → Writing in your dashboard, and check the box labeled Use Markdown for posts and pages. Click on Save Changes at the bottom of the page to apply. You will now be able compose posts and pages using Markdown.
