Are you free or not?
-
I did a google search for free sites and hosting… and WordPress came up… so I signed up, put in a lot of time to get things set up, and launched the site… or so I thought. When I shared the link, I got responses that all they got was a coming soon page. So I go online and search how to get rid of it. Plenty of tips… but they all include Bluehost… which is not free… So, if that’s the case, then YOU are not free. I can respect a business that tells me there is a required investment… UPFRONT… but to pull this sketchy practice where I am led to believe that I can build a launch a site for free, then all of a sudden I have to pay for something to get rid of a page and be visible is downright dirty! So, I am going to give you a chance to either show me where I went wrong, or, why I should bother with WordPress at all.

Isn’t https://aviewbeyond.wordpress.com/ a free site? It just needs launching. Click the launch button, type a random word in the domain box and scroll to the bottom to see your free address. Click skip purchase/continue with free.

I feel like there is some confusion here between WordPress.com and WordPress, the open-source software from WordPress.org. This support document should help clear things up:
