Argent and Infinite Scroll

Hi, I‘m using the template Argent. I want to do a site with Infinite Scroll. What I can do? I try to use the plugin Ajax Load More 5.4.1 but it does not work.

You do not need to use any plugins to add infinite scroll on a WordPress.com site, as that’s support by default on all the themes we offer, including Argent.
But infinite scroll will not work on any site that has footer widgets added, as that would make it impossible to ever get to the content in the widgets on the posts page. So first thing you must do to have infinite scroll work is to remove the widgets you’ve added to the Footer 1 and Footer 3 widget areas.
Secondly, infinite scroll only works on the posts page, and you don’t have a posts page designated for your site. You have a page titled Blog at https://firest.org/blog/, but that’s a regular static page that displays only your most recent posts via the Blog Posts block.
If you want that page to instead display all your posts, loading older ones via infinite scroll, you must designate your site’s post feed to that site instead. Go to My Site ->Design ->Customize ->Homepage settings, click on the drop-down under Posts Page, and select the page titled Blog. Then save.
Once you do that, clicking on Blog in the menu will take you to a page that shows your site’s posts feed.

Thanks for the answer! Now I know how it works!! The problem is that the footer widgets have a menu of social media icons. I don’t want to lose them on the homepage. Maybe I’ll try another theme. I still need to think about it…
