Argh Verse block font
-
Hello, Happiness Engineers. I am most unhappy with the change in WP editor. Today I successfully wrote with a ‘verse’ block–success in that WP maintains my line breaks. However, the font is just plain ugly. And worse, although I was able to change the font of the header and the footer, I can’t find a way to change the verse font. Here’s a link to what is happening now: https://familymatters389367221.wordpress.com/2020/08/22/6077 whereas just last week, I was able to publish this: https://familymatters389367221.wordpress.com/2020/08/16/join-now-the-symphony/ Also I can’t find the ‘share link and copy link’ I used to use a lot. Now I am copying and pasting the permalink. I really want ease of use and I’m not finding it. Ready to give up and find a different platform. Thanks for the help!

Hi there,
I was able to change the font of the header and the footer, I can’t find a way to change the verse font.
This is the font that the theme you have selected is using for the verse block and it cannot be changed.
whereas just last week, I was able to publish this: https://familymatters389367221.wordpress.com/2020/08/16/join-now-the-symphony/
That post is not using the Verse block. It’s using the Paragraph block.
Also I can’t find the ‘share link and copy link’ I used to use a lot.
Those items have moved. You can find them by clicking on the Jetpack icon at the top.

Thank you. I am using the verse block (and unhappy with the appearance) because when I try to compose a poem using the paragraph block (which allows me to use the font I like), I am unable to use line breaks. Can you recommend any tutorials that can help me regain the superpowers (ability to publish a daily poem) I’ve lost in the change to the new editor?

You should be able to add the line breaks if you use shift-return.
Is that not working for you?
