Arrgh! Why Does My Link Keep Disappearing?
-
I’m linking files from a file host to my blog. For some reason, one of them doesn’t seem to stay linked. I’ve successfully linked the other files but for some reason, one of them refuses to be linked. As soon as I hit Save or Publish, the link disappears.
This has happened before and I don’t know how it sorted itself out.
But if you can help me sort this out, I’ll give you a big wet kiss.
Thanks.

lol. I just realized. Here it is:

If you’re having trouble viewing it, it’s because for some reason it refuses to publish (this has happened before too, having sorted itself out later).

Are you creating the links yourself or using the editor? Can you give an example of a link and what it ends up looking like? As well, you will have to give us the URL of the post and not the edit URL as we can’t see that one I am afraid!

lol! I realized that too as soon as I sent it. Unfortunately, the post is refusing to publish as well.
Okay…try this one. Hopefully it works this time:

It is giving me an error as if the post doesn’t exist. Try publishing it again after you logout, clear cache and login again.

You may also want to check that the post did not turn to private. You can also get that error when trying to link to private posts. There is a problem with the woftware making posts private even if you did not click on the checkbox.

LMAO! I realized why my post wasn’t publishing. We’re on Daylight Savings Time here in Amerique du Nord. Therefore, when I was publishing it for 00:00, it didn’t publish until 01:00 our time here (because everything is in GMT on this site).
Okay…let’s try it one more time:

And if that still doesn’t work, you can just go to the front page of my blog:
-
Switch to the code tab when editing this post and change this line:
<a href="file"></a><strong>Arc Angels - Good Time </strong>to read:
<strong><a href="file">Arc Angels - Good Time</a></strong>Obviously i change the actual mp3 filename to say just ‘file’ above. You close the ‘a’ tag before the text link and you also should move the strong tag to the beginning like the others.
-
Strange…a new day dawns and what I did was I deleted the original filename and re-typed it. Then I followed the linking procedures as I did with my other filenames and…voila! It worked!
Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions. I know I may have been a pain in the butt about it, but thanks anyway.
A big wet kiss all around.
(Or perhaps just a manly bear hug, if you prefer, lol!)
Thanks again!
