  Hello,

  I cannot find any setting to display the author’s name of an article ? Also, I would like to display only a quick excerpt of the articles on my homepage. Is it possible ?

  Hi there.

  Not all themes display an author byline, and those that do generally only displays it if there is more than one user that has published posts on that blog. If you have multiple users on your blog you can activate the Author module under Screen Options in your post editor, but it won’t necessarily display the author name on posts.

  Front page excerpts are also restricted to certain themes. If you don’t want your posts to display in full on your front page you can add the more-tag to your posts: http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
