Article Thumbnails won’t show in full size.
-
Hello.
When my article gets posted on my homepage some, if not all the thumbnails are not showing the full image, some parts are zoomed in or they’re cut off. How can I display the full image as my thumbnail at all times. I create my thumbnails on Canva.
Thank you.

Hi there,
Here’s how to display your featured images uncropped:
- Open your front page (titled Positively Updated Network) in the editor
- Select the Blog Posts block
- In that block’s toolbar, switch the image shape to Uncropped.

I hope that helps, and please let me know if you need more help adjusting your images.
Also, I noticed that you have registered a domain. To make the most of that domain, I’d like to suggest upgrading to one of our paid plans, such as the Personal or Premium plan. By doing so, you can set your domain as your site’s primary address, making it easier for visitors to find and remember your website.
Both the Personal and Premium plans come with additional features to enhance your website. If you’re interested, you can quickly upgrade below.
Let me know if you have any other questions, and I’ll be happy to help.

Sadly the issue is still there. I uploaded a fresh article this morning and the thumbnails are still like they are with no change after doing what you said. Is there anything else I could do?
Thank you!

Hmm. I’m not sure that I see the same thing as being reported. Are you able to take a screen shot of what you see when viewing the site? That can be added to your reply here in the forum as part of an image block. Sometimes we need pictures to get to the bottom of things quickly.
Also, take a look at the site on mobile view. That’s how most of your traffic is going to visit the site.

Sure thing!

For example, this graphic is not showing its full image on the desktop version on my main page.
While it should be showing this on desktop. I don’t know if I have the wrong ratio or what.

Does that make more sense? :)

Thanks for clarifying. I took a look in your media library and I noticed that the source image that was uploaded to your site was a bit on the small side, just 150x 150 px.

Do you have a larger version of this image that you can upload and set as the featured image for your post instead? If you have a version of the image that is approx. 900 x 900 px instead, which will be sufficient to display a detailed thumbnail at the max size it’s currently set to display on your homepage.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

I have done what you said. I recreated one of my thumbnails in a 900×900 px frame and it’s still not showing up in full.

I was wondering if it might have to do with these settings?

I am sorry for making this seem more complicated or anything, i don’t know why its doing this haha

Hi there,
The issue of images being cropped is separate (from the specific issue of the one with the small thumbnail) and is related to the way that background images are treated on our site. To explain, the theme you are using is “mobile responsive” to work on smartphones, tablets, and computer. That means it’s layout will change and adapt to seamlessly “fit” on any size screen.
You can see in my video at this link, when you resize the browser window you can see this dynamic resizing in action. VIDEO AT THIS LINK
This is a limitation with the way that modern websites are designs (so they work on mobile) so it’s not recommended that you use “background” images with text embedded in the image, since that can get cropped depending on the size of the screen of the person visiting your site.
Instead you may want to try an alternate layout that displays the thumbnail separately (and not in the background) which will display the full image without cropping. You can see in the video here, it will show the full image no matter the size of the window it’s displayed in. VIDEO AT THIS LINK
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
