articles displayed in parents categories and not only in children

  In the sidebar of my blog, I have the “Categories” widget where categories are organized into parents and children. For each articles I checked the box of a child category only. However all articles are also displayed in parents categories. So, it is not clear. How to hide articles in parent categories ? Many thanks, Robert.

  I don’t think that’s possible, but I don’t know alot about the widget since I’m using a theme which doesn’t support widgets.

  I don’t think that’s possible. The way I understand child categories they’re just an additional way of searching.
