articles not showing on my blog page
-
Hey!
I would like my articles to be displayed on my blog page, the most recent one at the top and the oldest showing underneath, rather than just have them listed in the side widget.
What should I do?
Here is the page in question below:Thanks

Hi,
You can create a post or a page, then copy and paste this shortcode in it.
[display-posts order="DESC"]Please see this page for more options:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/display-posts-shortcode/#examplesHope that helps!

Thanks!
I just did what you said but it does show the articles as titles, I would like to have the actual articles in full display
-
If you want to show the actual articles in full display, in your Dashboard, go to Settings > Reading, under Front Page Displays. I think you already have “A static page” selected since I think your front page displays a static page. In “posts page”, choose a page where you want your blog posts to show.
Alternatively, if you want to try with the shortcodes,
you can do this instead:
[display-posts order="DESC" include_excerpt="true"]
but this would be formatted a little bit differently than the “Front Page Displays” way. -
Here are the step by step instructions for the “Front Page Displays” way starting from number 4.

Thanks honeysilvas!
I’ll try the last alternative cause not fully satisfied with the other options

What you want is the normal blog format, with posts displaying in reverse chronological order. But you’ve apparently opted for a static front page, an option which eliminates the displaying of posts on the front page.
At Settings > Reading > Front Page Displays select “Your latest posts.” -
Note though, that the above action will disable the displaying of your static front page. You can, however, create a duplicate of that page as a sticky post which may be displayed permanently above your other posts.

Hello musidoc1!
Yes, that’s exactly what I want.
How do I create a sticky post ? Right now my home page is a static front page.
-
Step 1: At Settings > Reading > Front Page Displays select “Your latest posts.”
Step 2: The sticky post option is in the Publish meta box of the post editor. Find Visibility. Click on edit. Options will drop down. It should already be on Public in this case. Now put a check in the box labeled “Stick this post to the front page.” Update.
If you had trouble following those instructions, or it doesn’t seem to work, don’t hesitate to ask for more help. Or go to the Site Visibility support page.

I don’t have a box labeled “stick this post to the front page” on the drop down option box of “visibility”
I have “public”, “protected by a password” and “private”

Found it, it’s called “retour accueil” in french , but what i don’t like it’s the fact that it displays it as a post with “date, comment, modify”
is there a workaround this?
-
but what i don’t like it’s the fact that it displays it as a post with “date, comment, modify”
Not sure I understand.
1. Date. It’s typical for a post to be dated, near the title. Some themes may omit the date, but I don’t have a list of such themes.
2. Comment. You can disable comments. At Settings > Discussion > Default article settings, uncheck “Allow people to post comments on new articles.” That should remove the comment link.
3. Modify. I presume that’s the post editor link. This is only visible to users with editing privileges on that post. -

:-)
Yes, you DID understand. :-)
So,for “comment” not to be displayed shouldn’t be a problem, but the “date” ???
But seriously, I don’t have the : “Stick this post to the front page” only appears after you choose “public.” when I select “public”
I could send you a screen shot, but through this forum, I’m not quite sure it is possible
