As an Amazon Associate, can I post links to products from my wordpress blog?

  I’ve tried to add my HTML Code For a Product Link as per Amazon’s instructions. When I cut & paste the code into media, as an URL code, it won’t upload; I can’t see the product displayed in my blog.
  As a book reviewer, this would be the main use for my blog.
  Please advise.

  The code provided by A won’t work. It will be stripped out as you’ve found. Only a straight HTML link will work.

  But, there has been some confusion in recent weeks over whether you’re allowed to do it or not.

  Staff seems to look at these things on a case-by-case basis to approve or reject.

  In general, what I’ve seen is that if it’s done ‘sparingly’, they’ll allow it. If it become the main focus, you may run into problems.

  If I am not allowed to insert links to third party sites then I will probably cancel my WordPress blog.

  I had a similar question bc I see all kinds of amazon aff links on WordPress(.)com like this one :

  http://shoeproducts.wordpress.com/cheap-crocs-silver-relief-unisex-footwear-medical-size-9-dm-us-mens-11-bm-us-womens-color-navynavymedical-footwear/ <— It looks like crap!

  I can give tons more examples if you want but dont want to do anyones job for them espec if I am not being paid. I hate trying to compete for 1st page with these .com sites from here. knowing it is not allowed but still flooding the searches from here!

  I got one site here removed (givesuccess.wordpress.com) because of “sparingly” used links…so what is it allowed or not…no in-between answer pls!

  @markureview it is not much diff to get your own hosted .org sites going that is what I did and I have many sites running Amazon aff links.

  If you want to run ads or use affiliate links, go self-hosted.

  If you see Spam, report it.

  That is a blog clearly violating the terms of service. I suggest you don’t duplicate it.

  If you have a book review blog, you are allowed to use Amazon links to the book being reviewed. If, however, staff determine that the ultimate point of the blog is affiliate sales rather than reviews, it can be suspended.

  Note that you cannot use any dynamic Amazon links; you can only use the straight HTML image and text links, not the javascript links.
