As soon as I started I realized I should have done wordpress.org

    please help.

    Can you really not fully customize on wordpress.com? For example, I need to add a legal line to my footer, and can’t. I need it, though…for legal reasons.

    I also want to be able to customize my header and remove where wordpress adds in the title and tag line of my site by default. Only some of the templates allow me to add in my own header picture AND delete their default generic logo. I want to be able to add my own logo as well as a header picture. This shouldn’t be so hard.

    Also, there is no way to add a rotating gallery on the front page? A space for advertisers? And wasn’t I thrilled after paying for 2 sites to find out I can’t use a custom template or plugins. I get to choose from ~140 templates that everyone else has used…Crap. CRAPCRAPCRAP.

    So…any advice on moving over to a more customizable, user-friendly host? Crap.

    Without doubt, you need to hire a web host and get a free software install from WordPress.org and self host your own site. Read > WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org: The Differences > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
    Recommended WordPress.org hosts.

    Everything you ask for can be done here, but it’s not straightforward, nor do the same instructions work on every theme. You are probably going to be better off at WordPress.org.

    Ummm read that all again … “A space for advertisers? ”

    AH! Well, it can be done. The VIP upgrade only costs about $600 a month.

    I was reading the fine print on the VIP and it looks like a $ 2,500 to get the site up and then you need to signup for a support package which starts at $ 15,000 a year. You can do Plug-in’s but it is a $ 5,000 charge to certify that a Plug-in will not crash the system.

    $ 2,500 / mo – for up to 5 sites

    Add the required support – you also need a

    That you have a rockstar in-house WordPress developer or work with a top consultant

    that signs up for the support program – support starts at $ 15,000 “per seat”
