Asian Women ADS showing up in my sidebar!
-
help! I pay for NO ADS and yet my readers see that my whole right sidebar is taken over. I have screen shots sent to me from my customers – I don’t know how to upload them here. When I go to my blog (without logging in to wordpress) I do not see them. They do.
Please tell me what I need to do – this is my business and I can’t have this on my blog. The ad changes, now it’s Netflix. Again, it’s my whole sidebar!!! http://www.lindastamps.com or http://www.lindastamps.wordpress.comThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress.com placed ads which are easy to identify as this link accompanies them http://en.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/ you can purchase No Ads upgrade.
It’s possible for ads to appear in your browser that were not placed there by WordPress.com. These ads are sometimes caused by malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser. These sites have further explanation and suggestions for eliminating the ads: http://www.littletechiethings.com/2012/06/how-to-remove-ads-not-by-this-site.html http://blog.wikimedia.org/2012/05/14/ads-on-wikipedia-your-computer-infected-malware/

Thank you for your reply but as I stated above, I already pay for ad free upgrade! I am current and active, not due for another 4 months.

I apologize for that first garbled sentence above. This is what I mean to post.
WordPress.com placed ads are easy to identify as this link accompanies them http://en.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/

I strongly suggest that you disable all browser add-ons. These days advertising is embedded in shareware and adware and in shopping sites and in games and so on. If the ads you see are not accompanied by this link About these ads then they aren’t placed by WordPress.com.

thanks so much – very stressful to think that people see that junk on my blog and I can’t do anything about it
-
You should not be seeing any ads placed any WordPress.com all of which are accompanied by the link I posted above.
In fact I do not see any ads on your blog and I’m not running a AdBlocker. As only you are seeing them and they don’t have the WordPress.com “About these ads link” it’s reasonable to conclude indicates they are in your browser and/or on your computer.

Hi there,
I’ve gone ahead and verified that your “No Ads” upgrade is active. We also only place advertisements which are small within the width of your blog at either the top or bottom of your site. They do not go into the side bars at this time.
Your viewers who have reported the additional ads may have some sort of malware or browser bar which is placing these advertisements. There may be some text below the advert which says “Ads not by this site”?
These sites have further explanation and suggestions for eliminating the ads:

I think you’re missing the fact that it’s a browser extension of YOURS that is showing the ads. Follow the instructions above to identify which one and disable it.
-
I apologize. To clarify, the ads that we place in the top and bottom of a site; those are only when the no ads upgrade is not in place! When it is in place no ads will be shown at all by us.
Sorry for any confusion! :)

Raincoaster, I’m not missing any facts. I realize from all the kind help above that it’s a browser issue for some of my readers (not me, I don’t see it) What is not good is that it takes over my whole sidebar even though I pay for no ads. It would seem like there should be a setting to stop those browser ads from taking over certain areas of the blog. They can just take over the top or the bottom but no, they are REPLACING my side bar widgets, links and data. They aren’t just moving all my sidebar pictures and info down, they are eliminating them altogether and putting scantily clad women selling who knows what in it’s place.

No, clearly you still don’t understand what I said.
The problem is that they have malware on their browsers. There is nothing YOU can do to help them. They have to fix it themselves or they will always see ads on your blog and all over the web. There is no upgrade you can buy here or for your computer that will help you control other people’s browsers.
-
Yes, I DO understand. I understand it’s their browser. Other blogs it only takes over the top bar of the blogs, like Typepad. It does not take over the Typepad sidebar. My point I’m trying to make is that it would be great if the sidebars were locked in a way that ads (from browsers with add ons) could not take over my wordpress.com blog sidebar. Thanks for your time, I have my answer.

There are no ads in your sidebar.
They are viewed only in the browsers of those who have infected browsers as I pointed out from the outset when I posted under my other username account ie. timethief above.
-
Browsers take computer code inputs and translate them for viewing; it’s not as if your blog exists as a physical sheet somewhere and they’re looking at it through glasses. The browser essentially generates the page on the monitor from code. When the browser has malware, the malware injects its own code into the way the blog is displayed, like a diseased eye that sees things funny. It doesn’t matter that the thing it’s looking at is not diseased: a diseased eye will show a diseased view.
