'Aside' vs 'Status' posts
-
Hi everyone,
Ok, this might sound like an odd question, but I’ve trawled the internet for a while now and can’t find an answer…!
Basically, one of my posts has been saved as an ‘aside’ post, and I can’t find a way of changing it to a ‘status’ post. There’s nothing on the ‘edit’ page for this post that indicates either aside or status, so there’s nothing I can do/undo (it seems) to change this on that page.
The specific post can be found at http://angelomarcos.wordpress.com/2012/09/18/at-a-gig-the/
I’ve written other posts before and after this one, always using the same theme which I assume would mean they should all get saved in the same way. I’m also pretty sure there wasn’t an aside/status box to check when I published these posts either.
Does anybody have any idea how to change this please? Any feedback would be gratefully received..!
Thanks in advance,
Angelo

You need to edit the post and chnage the post format to “standard”. Here is the link to more information about the Post Formats

Thanks timethief, and thanks for responding so quickly.
Unfortunately, I don’t have have a format module, and there is no way to enable this via the ‘screen options’ at the top of the screen either. Ordinarily, I would think that this means that my particular theme doesn’t support aside/status/standard posts, however every other post I have published using this theme has not been an ‘aside’ post.
This is what is confusing me; I’ve drafted and published each post in exactly the same way, using the exact same theme, yet this particular one seems to have been published as an ‘aside’ post, even though there apparently isn’t a way of even selecting this when creating a post..!

You are correct. The Piano Black theme does not support post formats http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/piano-black/
What to do is to switch themes temporarily to the default Twenty Fourteen theme and change the post format and then switch back to Piano Black. -
That’s excellent – done!
Thank you so much for your help. I can stop randomly googling ‘wordpress aside format module’ like a crazy person now…
