Ask for Flash 9 in wordpress

I wanted to add a flickr widget to my wordpress blog (not the one that wordpress already has, it a 3rd party widget). I used the ‘Text’ widget at wordpress and added the code. Perhaps, it shows that ‘you need flash version 9 to use that flickr widget’. The same widget worked good with blogspot.

Why does wordpress have such silly drawbacks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For security reasons. Flash is extremely insecure, as is javascript, and they’ve both been used successfully to take Blogspot down.

    Take a look at:

If you really must have Flash, then WordPress.com is not the place for you.

I recommend that you hire a web host and get a free sotware download from worpress.org. Then you will be able to use javascript, Flash and iframe embeds as the only security risk will be to your own individual site. If your site goes down it won’t affect millions of others.

In a shared environment on a multuiser blogging platform like this one, allowing unrestricted use of code that can be “bad code” means opening the door to security risks where we could all go down.
