Askimet deleting coments?

  The Askimet stats page says it’s detected 10 spam comments in the last month but nothing has ever appeared in my spam queue.

  Is there a way to either check it’s not deleting legit comments or just disable it entirely and manually approve comments before they appear?

  Akismet deletes older spam comments automatically except if you go to Settings > Discussion and enable the option “Don’t discard spam on old posts”. If you do that and start checking the comments Akismet catches, keep in mind that Akismet is 99.99% right.
