Askimet not catching spam

  I have received a lot of spam comments on my blog recently. A few weeks ago I had to delete around 50. I thought that was a one-off but comments keep getting through Askimet. Is there a way to stop this happening?

  Spam tends to be cyclical. Akismet is powerful, but even it needs to learn spammers new tricks. Marking junk comments as spam will help Akismet and reduce spam in the future.

  Thanks. I’m getting far more spam than I ever used to, thousands. I never used to get anywhere near that many. I’ll keep marking the ones that get through as spam and hope for the best. Thanks again.
