Askimet not doing its job?

    In the last few weeks, Askimet is suddenly holding all my spam comments for moderation so that I must delete hundreds per day that it used to delete automatically. Seems that it no longer follows the rule of deleting spam comments for posts over 30 days old.
    How do I get Askimet to delete this as they once did rather than having to do it manually?

    At Settings -> Discussion, you have checked “An administrator must always approve the comment”

    This means that ever comment will be held for moderation. Akismet will still catch high-ranking spam comments, but it will probably catch more if you uncheck that option.
