Asking for website name

    Hi there,

    There is a site extension name I would really request to get. It is findinghome.wordpress.com

    I understand that this blog already has an owner. However, there have never been any post since it was created last 07 October 2006.

    I would love to get in touch with the owner to ask for his permission to grant this name if that is possible. If you could help me, I would really appreciate it.

    If you want to know why I am making this strange request.

    It is because I am currently pregnant with my first child. And her father has left us. I want to write this blog for her in hopes to record all our moments together. And ‘Finding Home’ I believe, is the best definition of the life we are going to have together.

    Your personal circumstances are not relevant when it comes to any technical support issue. There is no application for an unused blog URL process. That’s because there is no expiration date on .wordpress.com blogs unused, reserved or otherwise.

    If and only if, you can make contact on your own with the owner of an unused blog via submitting a contact form on the site or commenting on a post on the site, then providing the site owner is agreeable to it there is a means of a consenting blog owner to transfer the blog to another username account. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

    In the case that there is no contact information or you do not get a response to a contact form submission or to a comment on the site, Staff will not breach the privacy policy and provide you with an email address.

    If you are not successful do not despair as you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

    Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
