Asking WordPress to transfer subscribers as promised
-
Hello,
As stated, please transfer my subscribers and followers from my .com blog to my self-hosted blog. I only had 9 email subscribers and 4 WordPress followers, but I’d really like to keep them. Please transfer them to http://www.gailperryjohnston.com.I have JetPack Subscriptions activated and ready to go.
Other than this difficult transferring issue, everything has gone smoothly and I think WordPress is absolutely amazing.
Gail
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Provided you have installed and activated the JetPack plugin http://jetpack.me on your WordPress.org install, and post the relevant URL(s) into this thread, Staff will do the transfer of both subscribers and stats for you. I tagged this thread for their attention.
-
-
-
Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.
-
-
You’re welcome. Note that Staff work forward from the threads with the earliest date stamps to those that have the most recent date stamps. :)
-
Is this going to happen today? Also, this isn’t as important, but can my stats be moved over to so I can see my whole history? Again, that isn’t important. I mainly want the contacts.
-
We have no idea when Staff will be able to work their way forward through all threads tagged for their attention with earlier date stamps and timestamps that this one.

You just moved yourself to the back of the line
stats and followers both get transferred
Just go ahead and do whatever you do on your blog and don’t worry about the followers, they will show up sooner or later – the staff have a good record of doing things like that – they are currently in a company wide meet-up plotting to take over the world or something :) and their response time is slower than normal
Once your followers have been moved over – just make a short Post welcoming them to the new site and put a note in the Post about anything they might have missed in the move
-
Yeah, I didn’t understand and still don’t–how I got moved to the back. If you can’t give me a ballpark, a day or two, I’ll contact each person now. I’m just asking for a general idea.
-
When you post to this thread, it reads as “new” and staff work from the oldest threads to the newest. So stop posting here.
Staff are on retreat till October 10. I would expect they will not deal with this until then.
-
Every time you post into this thread you move to the back of the line (worked oldest to newest)
Currently the staff have around 150 requests in the backlog – staff members have been working on the backlog everyday – we who help in the forum do not know what the staff schedule is – sorry – please be patient – you have not been forgotten
-
No worries, but this request can be dropped. I just notified the contacts and they will re-subscribe if they want.
-
Hi Gail – Sorry for the delay. I’ve moved your subscribers and merged your stats now. Let us know if you need anything else!
-
Thank you! Can I post a new question here? If so…I do not want my tags to show at the bottom of each post, so I unchecked TAGS in the “Screen Options” of posts. But then I can’t enter more tags! Does unchecking that box take Tags away altogether. If so, can you please make it so I can add tags and so they are searchable, but not visible to others? I have not set up a child theme yet, so let me know if I need to do that first. The instructions I have found for setting up a child theme aren’t simple enough for me.

Since you have moved off WordPress.COM you need to make friends at WordPress.ORG – they are the keepers of the software you are now using – we can’t do Child Themes here so we can’t really be much help on that.
You have several options with your WordPress.ORG install that we don’t have here
My guess is that you can hide the tags with CSS changes, which are built into your new site, ask at WordPress.ORG – you will need a new account over there to post questions – you can use the same email at WordPress.ORG as you use here as the sites are not connected
