Assign Category to Multiple Posts

I apologise in advance if this has already been discussed however I cannot find the answer. I wish to do some category maintenance and would like to be able to set/remove categories in multiple posts. The ability to select (via checkbox perhaps) the posts and then assign or remove the categories is the easiest solution.
Is this possible?

As far as I know you will have to go to each post and change the categories it falls in. You cannot change categories of more than one post at a time.

That is terrible, I really hope that this is addressed in future versions of WordPress – it can’t be that difficult to do. A simple list of posts, the ability to search them for keywords and two dropdown lists – one for assigning a category and the other for removing one.
Is there any way to request features in future versions you are aware of?

You’re correct. There is no current method to address bulk handling of categories or links. This has been discussed on the forum and a request for the same has been made. :)
This feature would be of particular use to those who are importing their blogs into wordpress as the categories on your blogroll links must be individually re-assigned when you import.
