Assigned spot for footer widget?
-
I just switched from Linen to Toujours. In Linen there were assigned spots for the widgets in the footer, according to the column. In Toujours, I don’t see this option and they seem to go wherever they please. Is there a way to place the widgets in a certain order?
Also is it possible to have no sidebar on some pages and a sidebar on other pages? I tried to eliminate those widgets on some pages, that I didn’t want it, but for some reason it didn’t work. This could be “operator error.” :)
Thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Susan!
In Toujours theme there are only one widget area in the footer, the widgets always float to the left but some widgets are shorter than others (like the Search widget) then they float all the way to where they can fit. You can try to move the widgets through the Customizer to see where they can fit in a more pleasant way.
You can set a Page Template for pages you don’t want to display a sidebar at all, when editing a page, at the right side, choose Guestbook in the Page Attributes box.
To hide the widgets on page you don’t display them:
- go to Appearence > Widgets
- open a widget already in Sidebar or Widget and click the Visibility button
- Set to show or hide the widget e.g. Hide if Page “Sale”, Show if Page “About us” etc
Thanks

Thanks for the help with the Page Template. It works fine.
I managed to get the hang of hiding the widgets too.
I wish that there was a way to control the widgets in the footer though. If there is a way by use of CSS, I would love to know. Thanks!
