Assigning a Post to a Category
-
Hi! I need help assigning my posts to categories. In the Customizer, under Menus, I tried adding a “category” to my Header (menu across the top) but all I am really able to do is update the name of the category, not add actual posts to it, etc. Help! Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thank you! I do not already have posts assigned to the categories. I’m not sure how to do that, still having some trouble. Ideally, I wanted to be able to create menu options such as Recipes, Motherhood etc. and you would be able to click on each of those and have the corresponding posts come up.

It looks like you’ve got plenty of posts written, but no categories assigned. So you’ll just want to add categories to each one.
If you’d like to do this one at a time, you can do that via wordpress.com/posts . Edit a post, click the cog icon, then on the options on the right, add a category to each post (and make sure those categories correspond with the ones you want at the top of the blog.)
If you’d rather find a way to do this in bulk, let us know; you will just need to create your categories here first:
https://wordpress.com/settings/taxonomies/categoryAfter the posts are organized in categories, you can add links to your menu.
