    assigning posts to a specific page
    I created my categories menu, and edited a post so it is categorized under a category that is the same name as one of my pages. however, the post still does not appear on that page. I have followed all the instructions

    I already added the relevant page categories.
    I am trying to put the test book review post in the page “book reviews and education”. after I post it, it sill appears in the home page, even though I assign it to the category “book reviews and education”.

    Hi there,

    When you use that Category Pages technique, it does not remove posts from your main post stream, it just makes them available in alternate locations as well. So it is normal that your post would still be available on your home page still.

    The Category Pages is meant as a way for you to divide all of your posts in to categories so that when someone views your site, you can direct them to whichever segment interests them. If you just have a main blog, perhaps you could categorize that as “general interest” and use that as its own category page?
