Assigning editor roles

    Hi,
    I’m the admin of a website and have invited another person to edit and be a backup admin. I went through the steps, at the end of which they’re sent an email which invites them to get a free account. The URL brings them to a page in which they seem to only be able to start a WP blog of their own. (which they don’t want to do) Am I missing something? They just want an account so they can edit the blog I started. Thank you!

    They do not need to register a blog. They only have to register a username account. The invitees who lack username accounts select the “username only” option here: https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/?user=1
