  • Hi Ruchi,

When you change a WordPress.com username, the old username is deleted and permanently disabled, so it can never be used by anyone again, including the original owner. Username changes also cannot be reversed, as explained on our support page at https://wordpress.com/en/support/change-your-username/, and in the warning we showed during the username change process itself.

So I’m afraid there’s no way to go back to the ruchidhiman username.

As an alternative, you can set a public display name for your account instead. You’ll use the username to log in, but the public display name is what people will see when you comment on a site, and will be shown as the author of posts on your own site. You can set the display name to whatever you want – it doesn’t need to be unique, and can include spaces, punctuation, or even emoji. And you can change it whenever you want.
