  Need help to understand why I need to choose WordPress instead of Godaddy?

  Hiya,

  It is important to recognise that there are two different kinds of WordPress: WordPress.com (which is for the forums you’re using now) and self-hosted WordPress. Both have advantages and disadvantages, but you can view the difference here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  If you choose to use WordPress.com, you don’t need to have GoDaddy involved whatsoever as WordPress.com is your host.

  if you want to use self-hosted WordPress, you will need a hosting provider. GoDaddy is a common one, but bare in mind there are many alternatives too. Recommended hosts: https://get.wp.com/hosting/

  As for your question itself, you don’t need to choose WordPress whatsoever, and you might find that neither WordPress.com or self-hosted WordPress is for you! But GoDaddy, as far as I’m aware, is a hosting provider for self-hosted WordPress.
