Hi there,
Does WordPress support custom domains?
Yes you can connect a custom domain by upgrading to any of the plans you see here. They all include this functionality, as well as a free domain for the first year if you do not already have one with another provider: https://wordpress.com/plans
How many monthly visits do you allow to a WordPress website?
How much bandwidth can WordPress provide? In both cases this is unlimited. Even on free sites three are no visitor/bandwidth limits
Does WordPress provide site search capability?
Yes all WordPress sites include basic search functionality for finding pages and blog posts on the site. You can also upgrade to “Jetpack Search” which provides enhanced functionality that is more like you would find with a search engine, such as auto-suggestion as you type, and highlighting your search keywords in search results so you see the most relevant info possible: https://wordpress.com/support/jetpack-search/
How frequently are backups done?
For most sites we perform redundant internal backups at regular intervals at the system level, which we use for data recovery in the case of an emergency. However those backups are not available to site owners. If you wish to have access to backups we recommend our Business and eCommerce plans, which both include backups that save your changes incrementally as you work on your site (so many times a day, depending on how active you are on the site) as well as an interface you can use to examine and deploy backups without help from staff.
What volumes can your CMS solutions handle effectively (Are there any limitations in terms of the database such as limit to volumes of CMS data stored such as number of records?)
No limits (even on our free sites) so you are welcome to create as large of a site as you wish. The only limit we place on sites is media upload space (for your images, documents, audio, etc) which is set based on the plan you are using.
What Security / Authentication does WordPress provide?
If you have concerns about security we recommend our Business and eCommerce plans for the most secure experience possible. These plans include the Jetpack security features we mention here, including security scanning, brute force login protection, uptime monitoring, and more: https://jetpack.com/features/security/
Can WordPress integrate with Google Analytics to track user journeys?
Yes, if you upgrade to our Premium, Business, or eCommerce plans you can connect with Google Analytics as explained here: https://wordpress.com/support/google-analytics/
What level of customization does WordPress provide?
as a platform, WordPress is used by web designers to create completely custom sites, so I would say the customization is unlimited. As a practical matter though we do have fewer customization options on our lower level sites. We recommend the Business and eCommerce plans as they will allow you to upload any plugin or theme “designed for WordPress” which would give you essentially limitless options.
What is the monthly cost / options that WordPress can provide from a CMS perspective?
We offer monthly pricing on all our plans (with cost savings if you choose the yearly option instead) so you can see the cost of any plan by adding it to your shopping cart from here: https://wordpress.com/plans/
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
