Assisted Export
-
Hi,
with the assisted export (129$) is it possible to have a localhost copy (a zip file, with the wordpress platform files and mysql). Actually you don’t have my hosting provider in your list but I’ve no problem to reinstall the platform on my own space.
Is possible?
Thanks

If you wish to use Guided Transfer to move your content, you will need to work with one of our approved hosting providers.
However, you are welcome to do your own export at any time, and import your content into a WordPress site hosted anywhere.

Oh…ok but I would feel free to choose my hosting provider…for the export option I’ve a question: how can download the images? Because the export create an XML file. For this reason I’m thinking about the Guided Transfer.

You can’t directly download images other than to do so in your browser one by one.
An export won’t export your images as files, as to do so would make the export file far too large to download/upload. Instead, it will grab attachment links and then import the images into your self-hosted site. This would be the same process if you purchased Guided Transfer or performed your own export.
And yes, if you do your own export, you can choose any hosting provider you’d like, as long as you can install either WordPress or another platform that allows you to import a WordPress WXR/.xml file.
