At wit’s end

I’m developing a site for a small nonprofit that wants the site to allow members to pay and join and create logins to access members-only content. I thought that was a fairly routine thing to accomplish in WordPress, but apparently I’m wrong.
After searching for a solution (at a reasonable price), I decided to go with WPForms and Paid Memberships Pro, but apparently there’s no way for the two plug-ins to work together to accomplish what I want.
Is there any option for me (again, without breaking the bank) to do this within WordPress? Is there a simpler process that I’m (newbie) just missing?

Paid Memberships Pro is a great membership plugin, however, it might not offer an integration (i.e. an add on) with WPForms.
If you are looking for ways to customize registration, I would recommend checking with Paid Memberships directly for advice. It looks like a good option would be to consider looking at Gravity Forms (similar to WPForms) as they do offer an integration: https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/add-ons/gravity-pmp/
Outside of this, I would recommend looking into using WooCommerce and WooCommerce Memberships (both are supported by Automattic, the same company that runs WordPress.com). Here is an article that walks through some of the basics pertaining to those solutions. Additionally, WooCommerce includes options to create an account directly on the site, and you can customize the account creation/registration process using an extension (here is an example).
Hopefully this helps provide some ideas and gets you going on the right track!
