At work (not home) WordPress is Slow and generic looking.
-
At home Wordress works smoothly and as I expect. (Cox is my ISP) At work, however, (Comcast is my ISP) When I try to log into WordPress it takes FOREVER to get onto a page and when the page finally loads it looks like an old-school Geocitie site, VERY generic no images only text. Now this is only true for the sites hosted by WordPress (i.e. my personal wordpress blog) My professional blog which I host on my own server (supergreen) works smoothly and fast and looks just like we expect it to.
I have no plug-ins that I am aware of on my personal blog (laurascheaptricks)
Is this a wordpress server issue? Or do I need to contact Comcast? or my hosting company supergreen? Help I can’t seem to find any resolution on the help pages other then taking off plug-ins and checking your server…But you are my server so thus I am checking with you. Thanks!Laura

It sounds like your work’s firewall is blocking us, or rather our resource servers. This is unfortunately common at workplaces, especially if they block other things like Facebook and Twitter.
You’ll need to contact your IT department about this.

That’s me : ) Miss IT. I also notice it with linked in but nothing else…. but it was working just fine for months then in the last week is started up…what should I look for in the firewall department?
-
More than likely their either blocking elements of WordPress.com or wp.com
I’d ask them to whitelist both.

Thanks for your help…I had done nothing and now it is working just fine again…but I will contact them to make sure it is whitelisted as well.
