Atlas Theme Question
-
I’m considering a theme switch and I love how Atlas maintains the original proportions of images on the blog page. My question is: are the proportions maintained when you click through to an image from the Portfolio page? All the images in the demo seemed to have the same landscape orientation.
Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Does checking the live demo site out help you answer your question? It’s here http://atlasdemo.wordpress.com/ and the theme description page is here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/atlas/

My question is: are the proportions maintained when you click through to an image from the Portfolio page?
No, the proportions are not maintained. The demo uses images with the full size of 820 x 547 for its projects. The width to height ratio is approximately 1.5:1. These images may appeared scaled up or down on an individual project page (such as “The Magnificant Horse“), depending upon the size of the monitor screen and the zoom settings used by the viewer.
The corresponding images appear at the size 665 x 532 pixels in the portfolio page, being cropped from a 1.5:1 ratio to a 1.25:1 ratio to fit the dimensions allowed by the theme. The Quick Specs section of the Atlas theme guide says:
Featured Images are 850 wide by unlimited height, and 665 by 532 for the Portfolio page.
