Attach WordPress account to .com domain

  Hello,

  I have acquired a .com domain as well as a free WordPress account and I want to connect both so that visitors can go to my .com domain. I have found this site: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/
  but I’m afraid that I’m too unfamiliar with blogs and websites to fully understand what’s going on.

  With my account, I have bought a WordPress hosting package. Is there a way to “connect” my existing WordPress account to my domain without having to buy a package at WordPress? Am I buying this double when I buy the 11 euro WordPress package? Should I delete my WordPress account and then create one through my WordPress package at my hosting provider? I’m confused. Hope somebody can help me! Thank you!
