Attached by italics – make it stop

  Hello, I have done battle with the occasional random paragraph changing to italics. Now when I paste in posts, the whole thing is turning to italic and selecting the offending text and clicking the ‘I’ button does nothing. Any ideas on how to make it stop or at least fix it after the fact would be greatly appreciated.

  You say “pasting in.” From where are you pasting and how?

  “Pasting in” is your problem. I’d put money on it. Even using the “Paste from Word” button can still open you up to problems, not to mention pasting from elsewhere on the web. Paste as PLAIN TEXT only and add formattting, links etc after the text is in place. Otherwise, you get the result you’ve noticed, thanks to invisible tags you don’t even know you’ve included in the pasting.

  If you are set on doing formatting etc offline, don’t use Word. Use a proper offline blog editor like Windows Live Writer or Blogdesk.

  Thanks. I am posting book excerpts. Usualy it only happens in a paragraph or two, but I can’t rewrite entire chapters. Still, I appreciate the information.
