Attaching category names to blog entries

How can I attach one or more Category names to each of the items on my Blog page? The theme I am using is Twenty Thirteen.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello!
From your Dashboard click on “Posts” when on the Posts page hover your mouse over the item you’d like to add a category to. When you’re hovering you’ll see an option for “Quick Edit” click on this and there sill be a category field. Select which categories you’d like to apply and then click “Update”

Wow! You’re totally right, Tish. Thank you so much for bothering to answer a question that looks so obvious when you know about it.
If I were 13, I would have come across the solution in a flash. But I’m 86 (in South Australia), and having a ball.
