Attaching Images Already in a Blog Post

Most of our photos in our blog posts are ‘Unattached.’ How can I retroactively ‘attach’ them to the blog post?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
Can you please elaborate a bit on that? I’m not sure I understand.
Also, can you confirm that the site you need help with is roppongiplaygroup.wordpress.com?

Thank you for your reply.
Yes- the site is correct.
We have a free WordPress site and are getting low on storage space. Many photos not included in posts were uploaded to media storage and need to be deleted. Most of our images are marked “unattached to posts” so it’s difficult to sort which images have been used in posts and which haven’t.
I think the easiest way to mark images that have been used in posts is to go into the post to edit it, click on the image and mark it as “attached”- but I don’t see this as an option. Is there a faster or more efficient way?
Thanks so much.
Best,

Ah, thanks so much for explaining!
Unattached files mean that the media file was uploaded directly to the media library, and not from within a post or page. If a media file was then added to a post or page after uploading to the media library, it is still considered Unattached. So it’s not really a great way to see which photos were used.
You can, however, re-attach the files as explained here:
Also, it seems that you’re using 37% of your storage so there’s still plenty of space for new images.
I hope that helps :)
