Attempt to add post failed

I got this message after writing a long post and trying to publish it. I didn’t hit save first – I didn’t think I had to. Now the entire post is gone and nothing saved as a draft, no autosave, nothing. Wah!
Is the whole post truly gone or is there something I can do?

It’s probably gone. Always, always just before posting select all the post, then copy it. That way if this happens, you can just paste it from your clipboard.
