Attempted to change domain name

Hello. I have started to attempt to change my domain name on word press and host gator. I am HORIBBLE with technology. I loathe it. I wanted a new website, but I already had paid for this year of webhosting and such. Anyways, it went horribly wrong and now I cannot use it at all. I changed the domain on WordPress. Bought a new domain on hostgator. Now I cannot access my WordPress admin page. I don’t even care if I have my old site. I was going to change it all anyways. I just want to be able to access my admin info and such so I can start over. I was going to close out my WordPress account completely because my brain is fried and I’m just done. No fault of anyone but myself. I just hate this all so so so very much. Anyways, if there is some magical wand you can wave to make this all go away, I will be forever indebted to you. Otherwise, I will just close it all out and be done with it all. Thank you very much for your time and listening to my ramblings….

Oh, and my old URL (OR whatever it is called) was https://dayinthefoxden.com
I attempted to change it to https://audrawellsauthor.com

    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi @tlcliff08gmailcom,

I see that both the dayinthefoxden.com and audrawellsauthor.com domains/sites are with HostGator.

We can’t help directly because we don’t host your site on our WordPress.com managed hosting. As a result, we don’t have the ability to take a closer look at your site.

Instead your host uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com.

The good news though is that HostGator should be able to help you change the primary domain for your site — I suggest reaching out to their support.

I hope that points you in the right direction!
