Attempting to import from Zanga, file not recognized

  I am trying to import my archives from an old Xanga account, so I download the archives in the form of a zip file. When I go into my wordpress account to import it, it says that it isn’t the correct file.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Note that you must open the .zip export folder you get from Xanga and import ALL of the files included in the .zip folder individually.

  @lydiacb2015,

  Timethief is right, when you export a blog from Xanga they give you the .zip file but that will not import to WordPress.com correctly. You need to extract the .zip file, and this turns it into a folder on your computer.

  There will be at least one, but more likely a few, “.xml” files in that folder. Those .xml files are what you’ll need to upload into the WordPress.com importer.
