Attempts at google site verification fails
-
I copy the content value of the meta tag as instructed but when I try to verify, google says the verification failed because the meta tag information is not configured properly. I “copy/pasted” what they gave me. How do I overcome this?

I did that; it wouldn’t verify….I’m sure the answer is somnething quite simple, but I can’t see it…..frustrating….

Hi there,
I flagged this thread for Staff attention. Please be patient while waiting for a response. -
Hey there,
Can you please post the code that Google gave you here so I can make sure everything’s setup properly?
Best,

Oddly, when I go to the Google Webmaster Tools page, the two blogs I wanted to verify are shown there. That’s nice, except I’m not sure how that was accomplished. Nothing would verify when I followed instructions and reposed ONLY the content portion of the meta tag (‘dBw5CvburAxi537Rp9qi5uG2174Vb6JwH>), but when I reposted the entire thing (<meta name=’google-site-verification’ content=’dBw5CvburAxi537Rp9qi5uG2174Vb6JwH>), the verification was accepted. Now what?

If your blog appears as properly verified, then there’s nothing further you’ll need to do to use Google Webmaster Tools.
