Attracting sponsors

  Is it necessary for me to convert my blog URL which currently starts as http:// to www to attract sponsors and advertisers on my blog or to add my account to adsense?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You can not add adsense to wordpress.com account here. http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/
  You can run ads on your blog if you have your own domain name and your blog has 20,000 page views per month via wordads

  That’s not quite true. IF you qualify for WordAds and are accepted, WordPress will put the ads on your blog and split the revenue with you 50/50.

  Buying a custom domain name doesn’t exempt you from the ToS. You cannot run adsense on a WordPress.com blog, ever.

  raincoaster-you mean to say that it is not necessary to have own domain? How and in what way can I qualify for WordAds? Can you clarify?

  Having your own domain MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. It is still a WordPress.com blog and thus blogger initiated ads are not allowed.

  You have to leave WordPress.com altogether, pay for hosting, install WordPress.ORG software, buy a domain name for that site, and then apply for ad programs.

  Sponsored or paid posts, including PayPerPost, ReviewMe, and Smorty.
  Affiliate or referral links to the following domains: usercash, clickbank, clickhop, cashrocks, payingcash.
  Clicktrackers and any promotions of the “I made a million on the internet and so can you” type of advertising (i.e. MLM, network marketing, cash gifting, etc.).
  Paid or sponsored post content is also prohibited.

  It’s my understanding that the WordAds program is only for blogs that are well established and have at least 20,000 page views monthly, as well as, meeting the criteria for acceptance into the program.

  I have my own domain and ads. It’s not worth the way it makes your blog look, in my opinion.
