-
I tryed to listen this mp3
http://www.musicwebtown.com/dzonsonbor/82258in WP. audio player but did nod succeed…
[audio http://www.musicwebtown.com/dzonsonbor/82258.mp3%5D
It alwaus coms outu “error opening file”
As I said…I tryed everything …visual mode, another mode, and nothing..!
What i should do…?
by the way…the music I put it is beautiful,isn’t it…? -
you put the .mp3 there, but the link isn’t that. the link doesn’t have an mp3 extension
did you get that http://www.musicwebtown.com/dzonsonbor/82258.mp3 from musictown or you just added the mp3 yourself?
if you did, it won’t work like that. you need a real hotlink and not one you “invent”. -
I pick up the link like this:
http://www.musicwebtown.com/dzonsonbor/82258
in that position
http://www.musicwebtown.com/dzonsonbor/82258This is without mp3 extension, but it is mp3 file.
In that link I put mp3. extensiom by myself in my blog and doesn’t workShould I have to change my mp3. Host service…?
To find someopne that putting the mp3. extension…? -
It doesn’t matter where you host the files as long as you get a URL of the file itself with a .mp3 extension. Many hosts (not sure about music web town) will make you visit that page to hear the mp3 file. For it to play in your blog you need (hotlinking) or the ability of the host to give you the exact URL of the file. Maybe try contact them?

You could always do a View Source on that page and root through all the code to get the MP3 actual URL, but that’s a lot of work and they might still disallow hotlinking.
-
Thanks Trent,
Can You give me some hotlinking host, where they can give me Url with .mp3 extensiom..?
thanks -
even viewing the source the link given is the same.
i thought musictown gave an hotlink, but it seems like it doesn’t.dzonson, you could try hotlinkfiles.com site

Depending on how much space you need, wordpress.com even offers space upgrades (paid). Free ones, I am not 100% sure but I think box.net has free hosting. Maybe search for free mp3 or something similar in the forums here because I am sure others are doing it now!

As far as I know, when you actually play the mp3 at MusicWebtown, it will show the address with .mp3 in the URL, and then you just copy that. (audio=URL) Could be wrong for others, but it does work that way for me.

I finally found .mp3 host and much more, I recmmendeing you this free host for:
Video, audio.image, flash, documents, zip, softwaremisc…thy cover many file formats, this is that Host

It’s too pity that WordPress do not cooperate with them to embeding code… -
The most common reason that an MP3 doesn’t play is that it’s in your code as a live link. By that I mean that it shows up highlighted and clickable, just as it is here in the forums. When you’re putting it in your blog, you need to break that link by using the Visual editor “unlink” icon, which is the shape of a broken link. Just put your cursor on the link and hit that button and it should work.

@raincoaster,
Thanks, I tryed what you said but did not succeed.
I know that I meke mistakes all the time but do not know where?
You see…
When I copy this: [audio http://wpcom.files.wordpress.com/2007/01/mattmullenweg-interview.mp3%5D
from Forums topic Songs and Movies on WordPress.com
and paste it in my blog in visual mod, after click save it ,and when I try..it works,I can listen the audio..!
But when I tryed the same with my link…doesn’t work…As you said, I copied my mp3 live link.,pasted it in my blog visual mod, selected it by the cursor and with the icon “unlink” I unlinked it,but still doesn’t work..,there is no sound
Where is my mistakes…?
