  Why does it say ‘Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons’ when I try to upload a .wav or a .mp3 file?

  Hello!

  According to WordPress.com support documentation, you need a paid plan to upload .mp3 and .wav files.

  With the purchase of the WordPress.com Personal, Premium, Business or eCommerce plan, you are also permitted to upload zip files and the following audio file types…(snipped)

  .mp3
  .m4a (might not work in all browsers)
  .ogg
  .wav

  To what site are you trying to upload the file?

  To upload it to your WordPress.com site at https://egglord851818585.wordpress.com/, you will need a paid plan as indicated above.

  If you’re trying to upload the file to a stand-alone WordPress site hosted somewhere else, please ask the WordPress.org community for advice at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
