AUDIO ERROR – WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER

AUDIO ERROR “Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct.”
The error won’t show all the time. If I change the setting from private to public the error won’t show. If Iset the setting to private, the error will show even for the users that VIEW the site using a valid password.
The error won’t show all the time.

It almost sounds like you might have used a local computer address to link to an audio file on your computer or local network instead of to a file that is accessible on the web. Can’t be sure without checking the details though.

Could you provide a link to where we can see this problem happening or describe the exact steps you took to create the post and add the media file so someone can try the same steps?

I have been using IE and that is where I get the error.

I tested the audio with Firefox and now I have a second problem: the browser will ask me for the software to open the file and once selected will download the file automatically, which is exactly what I don’t want. I need these files not to be downloadable.

    Any ideas?
