Audio files buffering, never playing

  As mentioned at http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/ the file needs to be an MP3, or the embedded player will not be able to play the file.

  Hello

  I too am having the same problem. ‘Just buffering’. I would like to hear the audio whilst looking at the post page. The last part of the puzzle then I’m good to go.

  @digichick: Are you 100% certain that you did read the entire thread here and that you did not find your solution?

  If the answer is yes, what’s the URL of the MP3 file you are entering?

  I’ve uploaded a m4a file not mp3. http://stokeystyle.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/ilona1.m4a

  I think I now understand why it doesn’t work (there’s no audio facility in my header or footer template) but I have found a solution of sorts that I can live with as I altered the code for the audio to open on new page, keeping the visuals alive.

  If however you have a more appealing solution (everything on one page) then it would be welcome.

  @digichick: As macmanx said above (and I’m sure you read it), the [audio] code only works with MP3 files.

  For M4A files, you’ll have to use another player. Try one of these:

  Thanks for the info. Will take a look. My template doesn’t have plugin access so regardless of what I find it’s likely to be unusable.
