  Is there a way in wordpress.COM for me to add in an audio player button that includes a “download” link with it for users who wish to download the audio file to their computer rather than playing it immediately?

  You can always add a download link just below the WordPress.com audio player by grabbing the File URL for your audio file via your Media Library -> Edit page. Linking directly to the file will allow users to right click to download.

  Another option you might be interested in is using the SoundCloud audio player, which also includes a download link:
