  Can I use links to audio files in my dropbox for my audio player?

  Yes, you can. You will have to use public URL for the your audio files. If the file can be accessed directly via the URL, it can be embedded in your WordPress.com site.

  Hello,

  I have an update here,
  As of now Dropbox Basic (free) users can no longer use public links to render HTML content in a web browser.
  https://www.dropbox.com/help/files-folders/public-folder

  Which means, the audio won’t work with files hosted on Dropbox.

  But the good news is you can host the audio files directly on your WordPress.com site.
